Introducing our first model

The Borsa Notte. Handmade in Italy from locally sourced ICEC® certified leathers.

An introduction

On a train ride to work, overhearing someone's search that sounds familiar: she couldn't find a proper dinner bag, in leather, one with no logos or frills, preferably made in Italy. A purse that is both sleek and practical, without having to pay for luxury maison standards. Why was it so difficult to find?

The briefing was simple, and so was the design process. It did not take years. It actually took an hour. Using paper from a notebook to fold some models. The lack of tools probably helped to keep it simple. Back at the studio, the paper models were translated into leather protos, ready to meet the artisans in Northern Italy.

Constructing this simple idea turned out to be far from easy, aiming for elegance without compromising on function, whilst considering invisible but important matters such as material consumption to reduce waste, and applying a repairable construction to extend the bag's lifespan.

From August 10, after many rounds of prototyping and lots of patience from our partner in Italy, the first bags will ship worldwide.

Piéga; the working title became the brand name; Piega is fold/folding in Italian.
